Independece Day Update: Saab 9-3 sports suit as “green car”

The Saab 9-3 sedan started as a “green car” in Sweden in 2010 and was a great success for Saab.

Saab's forecast that the younger model, the Saab 9-3 sports suit as a “Green Car”, would sell even better than the older sedan is easy to follow. So far, however, only the sedan was available as a green car.

This will change on Saab Indepence Day, the 23.02.2011.

The Saab 9-3 sedan was released last autumn as a biodiesel version. Low emissions combined with low fuel consumption made the sedan one of the most popular models in the “green car” segment.

The “Green Version” of the Saab 9-3 sedan was the best-selling model of the brand in Sweden with almost 45%. This is despite the fact that the 9-3 sedan, which has been built since 2002, is the oldest model on offer from Saab.

The Saab 9-3 Sport Kombi has only been built since 2005 and is the younger model. When the 9-3 sedan was certified as a “Green Car” last fall, the rating of the sports car failed due to a hundredth of a liter consumption. This problem is now solved, nothing stands in the way of being classified as a “Green Car” in Sweden.

At a customer event in the Saab Automuseum yesterday, the managing director of Saab Powertrain, Kjell ac Bergström, confirmed that the Sport Combi is now clearly classified as a “Green Car”.

As another model, Saab will present a Saab 9-3 facelift and the Saab 9-3 Griffin for Independence Day.

Hey,
not bad your blogg.

Are you sure that the 9-3 has been released for BioDiesel?

And the SC is currently missing a tenth of a liter in consumption to be classified as an “eco car”. The Swedes give the consumption in liters per 10km and not in liters per 100km.

Keep up the good work, it's fun to read.
