Clean Diesel's best-selling “green cars” in January 2011 in Sweden
In January 2011, diesel vehicles dominated the market for green vehicles for the first time. According to Bil Sweden, the umbrella organization of Swedish automakers and importers, diesel vehicles reached a historic high of 61% of registration.
Saab is well positioned with its “Clean Power Diesel” in the Saab 9-3. Diesel classified as a “Green Car” is exempt from tax in Sweden for 5 years.
In the Stockholm area, every new “green car” registered was a diesel. While clean diesel is booming, the approval of bioethanol and gas vehicles in Sweden is steadily declining.
This is partly due to uncertainty about the further tax treatment of E85 company vehicles in Sweden, as the current regime expires in January 2012. On the other hand, the effect of permanent lobbying in favor of fossil energy is also noticeable in Sweden.
Saab Automobile with its selection of environmentally friendly bi-fuel and tri-fuel models and the current “Clean Power” diesel models is doing well and will be on Saab Indenpendence Day another “clean” model introduce.
