Since the closure of the old Saab 9-5, the Swedish police have had to do without the sturdy and popular Saab-based station wagon. This is going to change. Ana Specialbilar, a subsidiary of ANA, the largest Saab dealer, will introduce a new police car based on the new Saab 9-5 this spring.
Saab has a long tradition in the Swedish police service and, in cooperation with ANA, also supplies special vehicles for customs and rescue services.
ANA Specialbilar has been building special vehicles for security agencies and rescue services for many years, but also taxis and vehicles for municipal use, not only on Saab basis. The last known project was the delivery of 30 police motorcycles on BMW basis.
Work on the new model is in full swing with Saab Automobile AB and ANA Specialbilar. In the spring, the idea of the new police version is planned.
Things are happening in Trollhättan. Saab is more alive than ever. We will report.
