The Saab Sonnet III, equipped with Ford's legendary V4 engine, was manufactured from 1970 to 1974. 1971, the cubic capacity has been increased to 1699 cm³. The performance remained at 65 PS.
The car was 3900 mm long, 1500 mm wide and 1190 mm high. The Sonett III was the first Saab in the V4 range to feature a ground-mounted gearshift.
The drag coefficient was 0,31, revolutionary at the time. Because of its high selling price, the sonnet III found fewer buyers than hoped, the American emissions and safety laws eventually led to cessation of production after only 8351 vehicles.
The most successful year of the Saab Saab Sonnet III (97) was also his last. 1974 were made 2483 sonnet.
