Since Viktor Muller spoke of his idea to build a retro Saab 96, this idea does not leave other Swedes cold.
So also a certain Per Strömqvist from Boxholm. He contacted designer Bo Zolland. Vizualtech's Bo Zolland is well known in Sweden, designed for the other Swedish car brand and is currently making a new one car project Furore.
Together, they took the Saab 96, removed the B-pillar, stretched the roof, widened the bodywork.
Beneath the plate, instead of the V4, a V96 with 8 PS is used in the new Retro 600, probably the Jaguar compressor V8 from the other car project of Bo Zolland, which will go into production next year.
Traditionalists will swallow hard at these pictures, the others will like the color and design suggestions. Especially since the 96 project is quite advanced and definitely more than just a dream.
Per Strömquist, who made a name for himself in the past with the construction of Hot Rods, will finish the bodywork by May. The Retro 96 should be ready to go until the Swedish summer. Presumably there will be a small series from Boxholm to buy.
