Saab Streiflichter on Monday evening: EIB walls and Volvo denied (still).

The Easter weekend is coming to an end and the new week will be crucial to Saab's survival. We still do not know officially what the EIB has hatched on terms for Saab. All statements about the EIB conditions came from Antonov retainer Carlström, who thus fueled the Swedish press.

Dagens Industri tried again today to get an official statement but got to hear the usual statements. With regard to banking secrecy, the EIB refuses to make any statement about Saab.

Amazingly persistent, however, is the rumor of the acquisition of Saab by the neighbors Volvo. The other Swedish car maker denies violently on all channels. Nevertheless, some sources report that the possibilities of a takeover are further intensified. We can not judge the reliability of the sources, we still see the whole thing as highly speculative, even if these sources are usually not prone to speculation.

The acquisition of Saab, the Volvo owner could certainly pay from the port budget, especially since Saab in the current state (unfortunately) will be cheap. The plant in Trollhättan is one of the most modern, the employees are well trained. The Swedish government would be more than pleased about this, as the Trollhättan region is to remain as an economic location, it is not for nothing that the transport connection to Gothenburg is being improved.

So the week will be hard for the Saab people in Trollhättan. Tuesday will definitely bring one thing: more clarity about the position of the car manufacturer. Because suppliers, unions and employees now demand clear words. The time has come for it.
