Saab Lage Sweden: Current situation also in Germany

Where should I start reporting. Let's start with the unions. The Association of Swedish Engineers (Akademikerföreningen / Sveriges Ingenjörer) has proved incredibly loyal to Saab today. The members had a meeting today, but it was decided not to file for bankruptcy against Saab.

This makes the engineers the last remaining workers' organization that keeps silent. IF Metal has gone to Vänersborg today, which was not easy for the union.

Saab holds against it and publishes a statement which states that the car manufacturer is not insolvent, but only temporarily insolvent. It points to the entry of Youngman and Pang Da in November, which would restore the ability to pay. I am not a lawyer, but I know by my professional activity similar arguments in comparable situations, which were successful in court in Germany.

Here is the Saab press release in the original:

Trollhattan, Sweden: Swedish Automobile NV (Swan) announces that Saab Automobile AB and Saab Automobile Powertrain AB (collectively Saab Automobile) have officially disputed the bankruptcy filings by two Swedish unions with the District Court in Vänersborg, Sweden.

Pang Da and Youngman, for which regulatory approval is expected in November. Saab Automobile continues to await the decision of the Court of Appeal in Gothenburg on the company's appeal against the decision by the District Court to reject Saab Automobile's application for voluntary reorganization.

Today was a black day for my mailbox. Mails from frustrated customers and merchants fluttered in throughout the day. Not everything is black. There is also the light at the end of the day and the story of traders acting anticyclically.

Today I met in Frankfurt Saab Germany boss shoemaker, and I hope he forgives me at this point a small indiscretion. The Saab boss was on his way to the IAA and meeting with a new, future Saab partner who is now focusing on the Saab future at the height of the crisis. The dealer wants to include the small, exclusive brand from Sweden in his future program.

It is also in this direction. Not always is a crisis the end and sometimes you just have to see the opportunities of the crisis.

  • It is wonderful news that traders are interested in Saab and plan for the time afterwards. Saab needs every dealer. What I see is that in D many traders who are still on the list have Saab written off or now settle. The time of reconstruction is getting tough and Country Manager Shoemaker needs good nerves.

    Saab Up!
