SAAB Motorsport: Saab 9-3 Scott-Eklund Racing

Winter is (almost) over and the start of the motorsport season is coming. Scott-Eklund Racing, founded in the year 2011 by MSA Rallycross Vice-Champion Andy Scott and Sweden's rallycross legend Per Eklund, starts with a Saab 9-3.

The Swedish-built Saab 9-3 with a 2 liter turbo and 600 horsepower will be on the 27 for the fans for the first time on the rallycross track in Dreux, France. To be seen in March. In principle, the 9-3 is an evolutionary stage of the 2011er Cross-Rally Project. The first voting tour will be made by Rally Legend Per Eklund, 2011 Swedish Champion.

The turbo engine was built by the specialist Trollspeed. The company is based in - of course Trollhättan. Where else in the world do the best turbo engines come from. Trollspeed looks after many Saab motorsport athletes, but not only. Vehicles from the other Gothenburg brand are also supported from Trollhättan. Trollspeed has a picture gallery with interesting Saab 9-3 and a cool Saab 9000.

The start of the season for the Scott-Eklund Racing Team takes place on 26. May take place at the Charlotte Motor Speedway in Florida. More about the racing team has friend Jeff on his blog SAABLOG-IN written. It's great that another motorsport team outside Sweden is holding the flag. The long motorsport tradition of the brand lives on, a clear signal for the attractiveness of a unique brand.

I then drive to my friend Achim and our Saab 9000 project. The weather is top notch and today “outdoor screws” are the order of the day instead of the office. 😉 Follow news when I'm back.

  • Nice to see a Saab on the race track!

  • What fond memories I have of the 70s, when SAAB took good rankings at international rally world championships ...
