SAAB Day: Post from Trollhättan and Saab Talk

While we are all waiting for new statements from the administrators, there is no “breaking news” from the Saab world. But we are moving in the right direction. The German branch of Saab Parts AB has left the old, temporary rooms in Fechenheim and is moving to the new rooms in Eschborn.

This is a further step in Germany towards normality and the future. After nearly five months, which are very hard for all concerned, the future looks a little rosier now. In Trollhättan, too, an epoch is coming to an end. ANA, formerly the largest Saab dealer worldwide, is clearing the traditional spaces at ANA roundabout.

These are owned by GMAC Bank, which demands too high rent for the former Saab property in the eyes of the management. The excerpt is not an end, but in Trollhättan something like a new beginning. Because in the medium term they plan to build a new car dealership, then (maybe) again with a Saab agency that also sells new cars. Götz from Hamburg sent us pictures from the showroom. There is still a full house at ANA, but not for long.

The fact that Saab is still not history, that the fight for Saab is still going on, has also been noticed by the German motor press. Autobild reports on the spare parts supply. After all - positive press for Saab.

Tim Rokka and Till Drescher are running the donation marathon for the last Saab 9-3 of the expired production. Which does not mean that not again new 9-3 from the tape could run.

The donation receipt is already over 11.000,00 €, which is a great thing. Steven Wade also spoke up today about donations and calls the community on Saabsunited for further help with the museum project. The campaign is still running 20 days and chances are good to secure the 9-3 Griffin for the museum and posterity.

We have now received mail from Trollhättan. The ordered rims have landed. Saab turbines rims and the rims for the Saab Independence Cabriolet have arrived.

In the meantime, the 18 ″ Independence Cabriolet rims are mounted on our Saab 9-3 sports suit and look great. It is amazing how the appearance of a car can only be changed by rims. Images will be posted on the blog in the next few days.

  • Have I mounted the Independence rims (simply from BBS) on my 9-5 station wagon, looks like hammer

  • Yes, I can confirm, on our new 9-3 sports in white, the rims are also a real eye-catcher. Good choice.
    Greetings from Switzerland.
