SAAB Talk: Saab meeting at the weekend and Trollhättan terminal
The Saab community is getting more and more organized. The heart of the cult brand also hits fans here in the country, while the factory in Sweden is still in stand-by mode. In Bad Homburg the traditional meeting of the Saab friends Rhein Main took place. First they met in the Central Garage, later in the convoy to Königstein for dinner together. In contrast, there was a premiere in the far north. On Saturday started the Nordic-Saab-Classic meeting in Friedrichsruh. The Saab event, organized by Jens-Michael-Baum, has been a great success.
Pictures say more than 1000 words. Starting with the classic Saab 96, 900, 9000, Saab 9-3 and 9-5, almost all series were represented. The Nörliche part of the republic and the Hamburg hinterland are just traditionally a Saab stronghold. But not only in the north is good taste at home. Even in Franconia, there is a Saab Stammtisch which meets every second Thursday of the month. Thanks to Renato, we have added the appointment in our calendar.
Summer is coming and Saab is supposed to get a new owner by the summer. Maybe then we have a reason to celebrate. The Swedes are celebrating Midsommar anyway and the Hessians are following the Swedes. Saab friends in the Frankfurt area should remember the last weekend of June. Details following.
Another look at the current situation. In Trollhättan further Saab components are used. At Saab logistics partner Trollhättan Terminal, a DHL subsidiary, 6000 stores pallets with engines, gearboxes, components. Before bankruptcy, these items were worth a whopping 235 million kroner. The bankruptcy trustees themselves estimated the value of conservative 30 million kroner. Now the components are sold and there are already prospects for it. Whether a surplus for the bankruptcy estate can be achieved is questionable.
Both Trollhättan Terminal and DHL have liens on the parts. Interesting is the question of who wants to buy the parts and why. Because there are only new components for just-in-time delivery to the tapes.
So for model year 2011 and 2012, some of which never went into series. So for example Saab 9-3 Griffin components and Saab 9-5 II parts. For the classic spare part business not or only of limited interest. For the aftermarket already. Upgrade your Saab 9-3! Griffin headlamp in cool Ice-Blue. This would be nice.

Hope the SAAB lives on. Want me then the 49. Buy Saab
Currently up to date: Saab 9 - 3 X, 180 hp diesel, new December 2011, 26 km already on the speedometer
I'm very happy, 5.5l / 100 km in a relaxed but fast driving style
No problems.

Hello blog community,
was only in Sweden for the first time despite years of loyalty to the Saab and relatives. I chose Stockholm to visit. A beautiful city, nice people, everything is great. Only the Swedes apparently don't drive their own brands - not anymore. I think I don't see any less Saabs in Berlin than in Stockholm. I was surprised. I didn't see more than six chrome glasses and the new 9-5 was seen three times, although I don't know whether it was always the same. Why is that? Given the number of cars (Audi, BMW, DB and various F + Jap.), 8o T pieces per year should be sold in their own country.
In Sweden, too, SAAB has always been a small brand for individualists. VW Audi and BMW are particularly strong there, and BMW in particular has grown significantly thanks to XWD. In addition, Sweden is like D Kombi Land. If the 9-5 SC had been built, many would have stayed in Sweden. Yes - would have if. That's the way it is.
