SAAB weekend: How Saab fans spend Pentecost…

We still do not know if Saab will go into the future with Mahindra, or if we should soon be rolling across the streets electrically and without a turbo. Maybe in a mix of both possibilities. No matter what may come, our Saab are durable and with good care will provide us with many years of turbo fun. So let's talk about this here and now!

In Sweden, the Saabsunited crew brought the last 9-3 of the current era to the museum. This means: Mission accomplished. Well done, and anyone visiting the collection in Trollhättan can visit the 9-3 Griffin, saved by the community. Let's stay in Sweden ¡Because the country magically attracts us. Happy who lives in Northern Germany, the journey is shorter. Cross the obstacle called "Denmark" ... and you're in Sweden.

Oliver, Götz and other positive Saab-infected from Hamburg have rented a 9-Sitzer and started in the night from Friday to Saturday in the direction of Sweden. In the area of Malmö there was a small, fine Saab parts market. An 24-hour short trip, because then it was back to the south, to spend Pentecost with the family.

For others, there is less fun and more volunteer Saab activity. Matthias Meise from Bebra-Breitenbach used the weekend to attend the annual general meeting of the 1. German Saab clubs and the Saab exit to prepare for all fans of the brand. The event starts next Saturday, and in the afternoon we go together towards the Schifflersgrund border museum. So far, almost 30 Saabs are on the list of participants. There is a lot of commitment for the brand from Sweden in the preparation, and Matthias deserves our support.

Other fans visited vintage car events with their Saab or had friends visiting for barbecues in good weather. But again and again the enthusiasm for the brand comes through. Photos of travel activities flutter on my desk. From the vicinity of Hof, where a Saab from Germany and a Saab from the Czech Republic met. Or from the border area to the neighbor Austria, where a Mahindra appeared before the Saab. Future group brothers?

Photos from a Saab generation meeting came from Bamberg. The Saab density in Bamberg is high, Muckelbauer greetings. Turbo X on OZ rims, a Saab 9-5 XWD and a Saab 9-3 Force with gold rims. The lucky owner of the rare Turbo X, which is said to have only 120 units in Germany, has thought Saab's original thought to the end. “Black is back” now also dominates the rear. A good idea, because the chrome on the rear of the series doesn't really fit the concept. Maybe I should too ...?

  • Tom,

Are there any other websites to find out about Saab meetings in Germany? I keep hearing about all these sessions after they happen. Here in Ansbach there are very few SAABs and I would like to travel everywhere within a reasonable distance during the weekend to meet new Saab friends.
