Saab license plate holder: design selection!

In December we sent the last Saab license plate holder “Made in Trollhättan by Trolls” from our Saab fanshop. It's time for a new edition, and we also considered modifying the design. The Saab cult slogan, which we definitely want to keep, should not be touched. We have found a small, flexible print shop that can also print small volumes.

The decision as to what the pressure is is up to the community. If we were not asked for the new logo design of Sweden, the license plate holder is our thing! We have some good ideas to choose from, which we want to introduce here. Of course, the team has a very clear favorite from which we have already printed a pilot series, but we do not want to influence the selection.

1 proposal:

Made in Trollhattan by Trolls, proposal 1
Made in Trollhattan by Trolls, proposal 1

The traditional Saab aircraft logo celebrates its comeback at least on our license plate holder. The silhouette of the Saab B18 with the cult saying from Trollhattan. The script was inspired by Gil Sans for Saab.

2 proposal:

Made in Trollhattan by Trolls. Proposal 2
Made in Trollhattan by Trolls. Proposal 2

The troll is back and it brings color to the license plate. “Made in Trollhättan by Trolls” in gray letters, flanked by two friendly Swedish trolls.

3 proposal:

Made in Trollhattan by Trolls. Proposal 3
Made in Trollhattan by Trolls. Proposal 3

A variant of proposal 2. The trolls unchanged, but with a different, more informal font inspired by Gil Sans for Saab. Not as playful as Proposal 2.

4 proposal:

Made in Trollhattan3

At least now it will be colorful. The trolls and the writing are striking and a guaranteed eye-catcher. It is allowed, what pleases, and why should not our creatives play?

Now our readers have the floor! Which design should go into production? The material is ready and when the community has made its decision, the machines are up and running. There is also good news for everyone who is already using “Made in Trollhättan by Trolls” license plate holders! We opted for the previous system, which is Made in Germany, for the new edition. An upgrade to the new version is possible without annoying screwing.

What do you like? The poll is now open for a week.

Which license plate holder should go into production?

  • Proposal 1 (81% 335 Votes)
  • Proposal 4 (12% 48 Votes)
  • Proposal 3 (4% 18 Votes)
  • Proposal 2 (3% 11 Votes)

Total Voters: 412

The plane in front and a (white / gray) troll in the back would please me and my SAAB ...! But no suggestions for changes were asked (understandably with the number of ideas to be expected) ...

Thanks Tom for the feedback. I hope that there are also frameworks for Switzerland.

  • blank

The variant 1 would be perfect! Are those with the KS of Switzerland?

    • blank

Unfortunately not suitable for Switzerland and Austria is a problem, despite the EU. But we asked the supplier ...

  • blank

So I find the variant 1 + 2 very successful.

  • Moin Tom!

Are you allowed to use the planes like this or did you have to get a special permission for the plane-Saab-people?
In the long term, since other construction sites are more important, would the aircraft like to have it milled and polished from aluminum and then installed in the radiator grille?
If that is allowed without permission ... who knows, maybe some / several other Saabists would also be interested in a copy (i.e. small series?) ?!

    Good time!
    Sebastian

    PS
I think that “in Trollhättan” is superfluous and that's why I cut it away from the sticker so that it only says “Made by trolls”.

    Hey Tom,

there was also “Born from Jets”, which I didn't think was bad either.

    Hello

    M.

I realize that there are still some small series to follow

My license plate holders are set. But I have another idea: Would it be possible to put out a few old slogans as stickers, preferably individual letters without a cover sheet. For example the US slogan “SAAB - find your own road” or our “Saab - at home on long journeys”? Each with the appropriate font.

    born from jets ...

  • blank

When will this license plate holder be available?
Are “made from planes” also planned with this design?

  • blank

All who then dispose of their old 'Saab center whatever' due to an exchange: bring it on!

Otherwise, I'm definitely on board for more color and trolls - so version four. In addition, the figurine on it looks much more like the driver of the Trollhätta cabin than the propeller plane (only Pipi Longstocking had a similar wing hairstyle).

    Mine is Made in Austria

But do I want to publish this?

I am in favor of suggestion 1, with or without “trolls”

    Greetings from Bad Salzdetfurth

But I would need “Made in Nystad” (Uusikaupunki is probably a bit long) because my 900 T16 Aero comes from there.

    • Uusikaupunki is also very good, but in parentheses behind (Finland). Not that it is confused with LADA from Russia. Many are ignorant

      • Are the ignorant people interested in us?

  • blank

So I definitely don't want to do without the “Trolls” 🙂

  • blank

I think the “Bomber” would look a lot better without “by Trolls”

  • so we also had some done. Just “Made in Trollhättan”, with without “by Trolls”. That seems too playful for us. Perhaps as a fifth alternative with the bombers from proposal 5?

    • blank

FKV his proposal would be really great, so I first gave the first my vote.

      • blank

        FVK course. Sorry

    • blank

Exactly: Airplane plus “Made in Trollhättan” - that's it!

  • blank

Attention! The format of the first edition did not fit into the standard mounts in Austria. It was too big.

  • blank

I think the election is clear. I want to release 1 with the plane

  • blank

Are there still the license plate holders with “saabblog.net”?

    • blank

Yes, they still exist and will be available in the shop in the next few days.
