SAAB News: Notes from Sweden.

Slowly it seems to be serious. Saab test vehicles make their rounds and were first sighted in Germany. The light at the end of the long tunnel? Saab 2.0 has been posting new jobs since Monday that give us an idea of the schedule.

We are looking for an employee with the main focus on future recruitment. The purchasing department is looking for three buyers and at the same time three quality controllers for the purchase of goods.

The chances of a successful restart are not bad if the investor NEVS finds the right employees. The magazine NyTeknik has examined where the 1.500 Saab engineers went after the temporary end in Trollhättan. There were predictions that Saab competence would migrate around the world. That doesn't seem to have happened.

With Swedish thoroughness, Oslo was researched as the most popular city abroad, where there are now 15 developers. Four emigrated to Shanghai and one engineer to Beijing. More than 700 engineers remained loyal to the region and work in the Trollhättan - Gothenburg area. Certainly also a merit of government measures and a big plus for Saab 2.0.

The Swedish auto industry is firmly in the hands of Chinese investors. Gothenburg is creating a new Volvo development center headed by former Saab manager Mats Fägerhag. 200 engineers will develop there, together with Geely, the successor to the Volvo V40. In June, the Göteborgs will finally be able to commission their new plant in Chengdu, China. The pattern at Volvo seems clear. Development and design in Sweden, new plants in China. This gives us an idea of what will one day become reality with Saab.

China is becoming more and more important for the Swedish economy. A delegation from the Ministry of Economic Affairs will be traveling to China on Friday. Undersecretary Hakan Ekengren visits the super agency NDRC, and meetings with NEVS owner Kai Johan Jiang and the Volvo owners are on the agenda. The NEVS battery factory is visited, including the location of the new plant, where the batteries for electric Saabs are to be produced from 2014. Quindao, the home of the new Saab plant, is also on the agenda.

I found this could be a foretaste of our new SAAB image, SAAB made in China.
There are really my last hair to the mountains.
There are things that the SAAB world doesn't need, BAIC is probably one of them from a SAAB fan point of view ...

That's really huge!
I myself lived and worked in Guangzhou for 1 year. This allowed me to get to know the Chinese way of life a little. ALLERHAND was there, but that's more than just unbelievable. I am curious whether this will have any consequences (which I hope very much).

Sunny greetings from Lusatia. Marco

Behavior like the BAIC website here suggests that it is a dubious company - of course, this is not unique to China.

In any case, I think one thing for the legal department of SAAB AB - whose President Buskhe has certainly not given any approval of the name SAAB for the BAIC group.

Intervention by the SAAB group should take place in conjunction with NEVS - there are those directly affected!

It runs….

Now wait and see what comes out and how much SAAB spirit is “left”!

That's it. How much "Spirit of Saab" is still in the number?

If they are serious, the new Chinese owners may want to consult with their lawyer when looking at BAIC websites.

Oops, that's really awesome! Horrible! Would be surprised if BAIC can rely on the SAAB history so.

Quite simply because the Chinese have always been bad at copying and translating ..
