SAAB Youngtimer. A Plea for the Saab 9-3 I.

What is the reason to restore a Saab 9-3 Aero of the first series and to move the upcoming Saab classic in everyday life? The Swede with the typical hatchback has its own character. He is closer to the classic Saab 900 than the 9000. He is just for the automotive heart, sometimes a bit rough, but a thoroughly honest car.

The penultimate article on our “Silver Aero Project” has just appeared on the Saab-Youngtimer Blog. While I'm on the road today, of course in silver 9-3, there is reading fun for the Saab fans.

The slightly less luxurious version (2.0 SE, 223.000km body / 90.000 ATM) brought us last week extremely comfortable from Germany to southern Turkey, more precisely to Adana.

The first time that I completed this track without back pain.

I can't say anything about a “bag of mussels”, but that a 9-3 is certainly more comfortable cruiser than sports car - I can't disagree. And that's just as well.

With all due respect - including the commitment to write this wonderful blog: IMHO, this car is the most unattractive car that SAAB has ever produced. And by that I don't mean the perhaps unique shape - this car drives like a sack of clams. Chassis-wise simply unbeatable horrible; performance weak. But: every Jeck is different. Better to have a Saab on the street than one more at the recycler.
At this point, thanks again for the pleasure of being able to read saabblog again and again.

    Greetings from Cologne, Thomas
