SAAB Tour Meißner Elbe Valley. The perfect Saab day.

If there is a perfect day, then the past Sunday was close. Mark with co-pilot Karina and I started in the morning towards Meißen for the Saab tour through the Elbe valley. He with his 9-3 Cabriolet ahead, I with the “Silver Aero” behind. Shortly before Meißen we met a 9-5 II from Halle. The driver greeted them happily and his Saab day had also started well.

In Meißen there was a wine festival this weekend, the city was full ... and the parking lots too! Only wild guerrilla parking helped at the agreed meeting point. The original plan for “Saab parking-only” turned out to be unfeasible. A little later, 26 Saabs set out towards Riesa. Starting from the Saab 99, lots of Saab 900 up to the current 9-3 everything was represented. Martin, who organized the tour, and his team managed the trick of guiding the convoy through the crowded city center without anyone getting lost. Then we went on small side streets through the beautiful Elbe valley. The autumn sun gave everything possible, the topless faction was able to open the roofs. Accompanied by the legendary Saab 900 turbo sound, we rolled along the banks of the Elbe along vineyards and through small, picturesque villages. Saab heart, what more do you want?

We drove via Diesbar-Seußlitz, Grossenhain and Zabelitz to Riesa with a small stopover. The organizers had reserved a room for the almost 50 participants in the Makkaroni restaurant at the Riesa noodle center. There were endless Saab talks about great pasta dishes, and all participants got the iconic “Saab more than a car”Sticker sponsored by the Saab Parts AB, and our “I love Saab” buttons from the fanshop.

The time flew by with gasoline conversations, and already at 15:30 p.m. - felt much too fast - it was back in a convoy over a delightful route to Meißen. A colorful Saab troop of all ages, the perfect weather, a great tour. The day couldn't have been better. Many very young Saab drivers were there, as well as fans of a slightly older age. Everyone got on well, and two things are clear: being a Saab fan is not a question of age, and our brand has no worries about young talent. At most, supply concerns! But that's another topic.

It was a good weekend for Saab. Deep in the West, the 1 hosted. German Saab Club on Saturday its Saab Tour Ruhr 2013 with 16 vehicles, on Sunday were in Saxony 26 Saabs at the start. The brand is present and the Saab Spirit is very much alive. Sunday, that's for sure, passed by way too fast. We all had a lot of fun, as you can guess at the pictures.

Martin, from the blog team again many thanks for the perfect day to you and all the helpers!

Addendum ... the story continues. There will be a new edition in spring 2014. Then the Saabs tour the Chemnitz area. We will inform you in time.

Beautiful picture report! At the Saab Tour Ruhr 2013 we unfortunately had to cancel because of work! But without money, no Saab!
Greetings from work
