NEVS is no longer Saab!

Update: 11: 22

The NEVS descent continues! As a result of the request for reconstruction, Saab AB yesterday revoked all rights to use the name “Saab” from NEVS. The local newspaper in Trollhättan reported this a few minutes ago.

Over: Saab 9-3 with new logo. © 2014 saabblog.net

This was made possible by an agreement between Saab AB and NEVS, which was made two years ago.

Neither NEVS nor Saab AB have so far publicly commented on this.

In the meantime NEVS has moved to Vänersborg, this time with more information, to apply for reconstruction again. NEVS is said to have received a loan of 20 million crowns from its main shareholder. The sale of the development company and the Phoenix platform parked in it - the name Dongfeng is mentioned again - should be completed within a month. NEVS wants to use the proceeds of half a billion kroner to pay off all debts. Another company is to join as the new main shareholder, the deal could “be completed under certain circumstances” according to NEVS.

NEVS no longer has a product, no brand name, the attempts to rescue appear increasingly desperate. The chances of success are slim. Updates to follow ...

With all the (not) information I ask under reserve. The name Saab is tied to the Swedish site, the name NEVS not. Could this decision not mean the end of Swedish jobs, should NEVS continue?

Hello Tom,
yes, do we already have Friday, the 13.ten? That's really not good news, but still many for your update.
And yet: every end has a beginning

If what the newspaper writes is correct ... Because a press release has just come from NEVS that the reconstruction has now been approved.

I've been reading this for a long time and have never wanted to comment myself. But this crime thriller is so exciting that I can't hold back any longer. Have you already read the breaking news on TTELA? "JUST NU: Reconstruction medges"

Hello mountain goat,
great that I'm not the only one who now believes in a real new beginning ...

Can someone ask SAAB AB how it goes on?

The Saab AB also has responsibility for the reputation of their other corporate branches and the puppet theater which has been deducted for several years under Saab Automobile is also colored on the parts of Saab that have not yet set their reputation in the sand.
Understandably, the Saab AB is so, it surprised me that so long waited.

Even though I hate to say it:
That now sounds like the final from SAAB as a car brand ...
Too bad

Comprehensible after all the chaos of the last years.
This is not the beginning of the end for me, but rather
the beginning of the beginning.

Time 2 examples of what I believe are successful takeovers:

1. Volvo is writing after the acquisition of Geely current
black numbers.

2. The old American motorcycle brand Indian is after
decades of sinking by a new investor again
surfaced and returned to the motorcycle scene for a lot
positive headlines worried.

Both famous brands, why should not that also with SAAB
success

Although the image of SAAB has suffered greatly in recent years
I do not think that's what it was.

Finally what happens and a new investor becomes the mistake of
Certainly not wanting to repeat the past….

3. Bugatti was “reborn” http://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bugatti and 4. Borgward is still waiting, like 5. SAAB as well! 🙂
Life without SAAB is possible, but not so nice….

In contrast to Saab, Volvo had much better conditions to restart (my Tom had also mentioned this in a post). Because after Ford ended the Premium Group project (Volvo, Jaguar, “Lincoln”, Aston Martin, Lagonda, Daimler, Rover, Land Rover) and the corresponding investments, they dismissed the former subsidiary in an orderly manner. In other words, the buyer received the brand in full, including all license rights, etc. On top of that, there was still the right to use the platforms and modules for the models produced at that time for a fee for 5? Years. So it was a clean cut, which you can see in the current success.

GM, on the other hand, has left all sorts of backdoors open, hoping to make the big bucks. Plus the fact that you should not use GM parts so easily. Then came Müller, who also wanted to make coal, etc.pp ..

Unfortunately, my faith is ever going to die again seeing a new Saab on the streets. But I will continue to be loyal to Tom's blog as long as he still hopes I join.

The second hint with the second fencepost that NEVS finally gets rid of the field (after rejection of the reconstruction = 1. Wink) !!!

The appeal regarding reconstruction would have been done for NEVS as well.

Now NEVS is really only left with the quick sale of the work and the half-finished platform, so that the best possible profit comes out - if you wait for bankruptcy, it can certainly only mean a much smaller profit for NEVS.

I would be interested to know which company has SAAB AB as its successor.

See that too. For NEVS, the best time to get out is now. Is only the question of whether the SAAB AB will again good-naturedly give the brand name for (unsuitable) successors.

If no big, respected corporation registers its interest, it could also be the end for cars with Saab logo. Once and for all.

I would never have thought, but an end can also be redemption.

Since the departure of GM, each life-prolonging measure has only continued the disease.

Instead of false hopes and aroused desires (such as on a 9-5 II SC), it would have been satisfying for many to move their good old chrome glasses with the proud feeling that they were sitting in the last big SUV ever built by SAAB ,

Well, in a way, it's still like that ...

My understanding of all those who have pulled or currently pull SAAB automobiles / NEVS someday is growing every hour.

Please switch off and allow mercy.

FRP,
Are you talking about an 9-5NG?
Whoa yes, I can say that I have experienced this a month ago.
That was the EGR Kueler for me.
Completely replaced. Glad that there are still Saab spare parts.

Of course, but is this the only reaction? Did you sit down with NEVS and the potential buyers and talk about the problems?

If so, then they also seem to have no confidence in NEVS

If not, then the whole thing is the worse.

Theoretically yes, but only if one is sure that the new investor does not continue to damage the image of the name.
Certainly you will have become much more cautious after the NEVS experience.

This is a bang in the morning. It is understandable from the point of view of Saab AB (and finally they get involved in this constant back and forth).

Well, if now not even the right to use the name is securitized, then I would like to know for what the investors should still spend money. Either the entire package is now being sold for a symbolic price or the individual packages (unfinished platform, machines, etc.) are being sold in bankruptcy proceedings to settle at least part of the debt.
