NEVS is hiring ...
NEVS is growing. A few hundred production employees are being sought for the Saab factory in Trollhättan. Jobs are being advertised in China, where the plant in Tianjin will go into operation in the first quarter of 2017. No employees yet for production, but reinforcement for the local office and the establishment of an international organization.
The current vacancies are available on a Chinese job board. That's nice, you can say, a story of success could take off. But should we keep NEVS on the radar?
Over the last few days we have been reporting about the development in the stablebacka, about electric cars, China and Sweden. Things are developing dynamically, but that alone makes it interesting. However, there are more considerations behind the articles. Because there was the general question, whether the events around NEVS interested or not.
Saab DNA and Saab factory
NEVS is owned by the Saab factory; The offices and workshops are filling up more and more with people who have Saab Automobile history. Design and development are largely staffed by former Saab employees, many senior and middle management positions as well. This development was unpredictable a few months ago. Nowhere else in the world can you find Saab's past, competence and future in one place.
Should it be the case that completely newly developed vehicles roll off the production line in Trollhättan in 2018 or 2019, then this place is the greatest opportunity to experience mobility with flawless Saab DNA. People work for NEVS who know what a Saab should feel like. What Saab drivers expect, where the design features are placed. If, in the best case scenario, the brand makes a comeback, then it can only be there.
I see that as a good reason to keep NEVS on the radar. Mark and I are in Trollhättan this fall. To visit the Saab Museum, to which we feel connected. Whether we also get an appointment with NEVS is not guaranteed. We work on it.
We keep balance
In addition to current things we do not forget the present. The topics on the blog, even if it could become something electric in the future, remain balanced. Saabs are on our doorstep or are on the way to us by car carrier. Our project has been registered by the forwarding company for this evening. We also have an incredible Saab story. How realistic is it to have two Saabs in the garage that were produced the same day? Not trustworthy? But happened. By chance. Saab just.

Where is Paul? :)
Come ... Work on it 😉
The story is incredibly exciting and should stay on the blog. Where else in the automotive industry is there such a rapid development. No matter what in the end stands on the cars for a name. Of course SAAB would be the best.
What do they want to build exactly and has anything to do with SAAB?
I don't understand why nothing comes from them at all ...
I can only hope that I / we can buy a new one soon (2018). I have a 9.3 2.0T Aero Cabriolet and can not imagine a better car for the next, although I will not sell mine. It is a pleasure to drive with him!
Yes, please keep an eye on Trollhättan And NEVs! Maybe our hope for new SAABs dies with new cars from Trollhättan? Whether this is now Saab or otherwise hot maybe not as important as the SAAB Spirit!
Greetings from Oldenburg André
Has NEVS said anything about coming back to the North America market?
Has there been any progress about keeping the SAAB name?
NEVS wants to come back to North America. First China in 2017 and maybe Sweden. Later Europe and North America. But sadly there is nothing new about the Saab name.
Saab cars for Europe / USA and nevs cars for China.
I am neutral to NEVS (seen positively) to annoyed ... 🙁
The development of this company should (anyway) be followed on the blog. See what will roll out of the factory in China in just over a year ...
With the SAAB-DNA in Trollcity I remain critical / cautious. Of course, it's good when “old” SAABians do their job on site again. But whether SAAB DNA will roll out of the factory gates again in the future is in the stars. Perhaps some of the employees still “tick” in SAAB ..., but if the “owners in China” are not interested in SAAB DNA, appropriate decisions will be made and implemented! That is the reality of leadership.
Point. Out of the mouse.
As I understand the matter, the situation is both so to speak. Since the models for the European market and the USA are made in Sweden ... the factory in China makes a mass of electric cars that you can make money with. If one had wanted to do it as you describe, one could have completely saved the purchase of the old factory and the know-how.
I believe that only so Saab could be revived, with a strong tailwind.
I don't particularly like NEVS ... But Tom is right. Focus on what happens in the factory and what new EVs are coming. If it is in the typical SAAB design, I could like it 😉
I had a stomachache for a very short time ... but everything ends well! Thank you and please keep reporting ... it could be that a really exciting comeback will develop!
