Saab, Saab, Saab! 12 pages in the Autobild Classic.

If you take your children to school, drive to work, take your first appointment tomorrow in the Saab, you should plan more time than usual. The detour to the next newspaper stand is obligatory, because the latest edition of Autobild Klassik brings Saab without limit ...

Saab EX. One-off. Reportage in the Autobild Klassik.
Saab EX. One-off. Reportage in the Autobild Klassik.

12 pages of Saab - there has never been so much Saab in one magazine, and the content is tough. Sure, Saab is no longer. Unfortunately ! Made flat, as the trio of authors with Richard Holtz, Frank B. Meyer and Jan-Henrik Muche determine. You will find clear words for those responsible, and when people write about the cars, sympathy for the brand comes through.

Saab, Saab, Saab. Rarities in the Autobild Classic

Author Richard Holtz spent his studies in Sweden and has since joined Sweden and his car culture. He is a fan of the two big brands, is also often in Trollhättan on the go and has visited many Saab Events together with the blog team. He opens his extensive archive for the magazine and brings to light almost forgotten Saab rarities. The Mellberg Saab Mayo P1 is just one of them. In the current output The Autobild Klassik is about the following Saabs:

  • 1997: Saab EX
  • 1992: Saab CX
  • 1968 / 2013: Saab 95 electrical conversion
  • 1990: Mellberg Saab Mayo P1
  • 1981-86: Saab 900 CD
  • 2011: Saab 9-5 SC
  • 1964: Saab 92 and 95 Husbilen ...

… .And also the Saab 9000 SC from 2015 and much more. The question of whether it is worth reading or not does not even arise this time. You should, no you just have to have the magazine, because it has collector value, and whether you will ever find so many Saab in a car magazine at once is in the stars.

I leave the closing words to Richard Holtz today. He writes as a conclusion, and I think there is little to add, the following words: Thank you, Saab, for the 69 years you spent constructing cars in a smart, unconventional and high-quality way. Thank you, Saab fans, for your loyalty and your whimsical projects. Please, Saab friends, keep going, maintain the originals, let them age with dignity, stay creative with the parts makers. Only you can keep Saab alive.

Thanks to Richard Holtz, Frank B. Meyer and Jan-Henrik Muche for 12 saabige pages in the new issue!

What did I enjoy
an 12 page Sab article, unbelievable!
Off to the gas station, how much do I buy? Maybe all of them, it was 10 pieces,
maybe a bit exaggerated, then 4 piece, the casserole's hint, it's all the
same magazines, or the same ones?
Yes, and that's a good thing, what was I happy about….

Holiday starts well:
Got it at the gas station and happily rummaged through it ...
... and also this morning on the A7 in the construction site for the first time "live" seen a new Borgward (in brown) on our streets ...

Hmmm ... don't know. Not bad, but not spectacular either (just like in some pictures: somehow a wild mix of other SUVs).
I only recognized it by the huge diamond on the front (presented a bit “too proud” for me).
I did not know that this was already rumdüst.

PS: I saw a Bentley SUV very briefly in my hometown. I almost “liked” it compared to the pictures on the web; the Borgward somehow not yet.

I'm looking forward to it, too, Saab has been a marginal phenomenon in classic literature so far. Rarely a 900 convertible or a replica for events ... Up until now there was nothing more to read. Thanks to the creators and supporters of the post!

Thanks, I will definitely !!!

Tomorrow I will “cruise” relaxed on the freeways “north” and then hopefully by noon by the sea I will have some fresh crab rolls! 😉

My “vacation” will end with a short trip to the “TÜV & Inspection Stop” in the middle of the month in Kiel ...

Classes and earned attention for our brand. Caring for our sweetheart is love, passion and our vocation. So we can have fun with us and our vehicles for a long time!

Thanks for the hint. So it pays to get up a little earlier and make a detour to the kiosk!
