SAAB dates December 2018

The last Saab calendar for the current year goes online today. The cold days of the year are ahead, and that reminds me of a Saab campaign for the environment. Instead of letting the Saab warm in the morning, and while working on the windshield, the manufacturer first warned to clear the windows.

And because Saab was Saab, there was an ice scraper in a cool design. Only the pictures from our archive have remained. Whether the ice scrapers ever found their way to the customer or dealer is open.

Is there actually another Saab stand at the Essen Motor Show?

        This is exciting …

Are Subaru and SAAB really something like brothers in spirit? Different though, but similar in the respective culture and in a global context with a common intersection? Two manufacturers of good saws, some of whom work on trains and the others on the other hand work equally well on thrust?

I have not brought it to the topic SAAB & Subaru yet to their own opinion. But I have a soft spot for all the underdogs and ways that are off the mainstream ...

Whether Subaru will ever convince or win over me, I can not (yet) say. But I can say with certainty that this SAAB ice scraper would be worthy of a Bentley's or other exclusive brands. There is probably no second car manufacturer like SAAB. No one else who would have turned to the masses with intelligent and inexpensive offers and at the same time was so lovingly detailed and so precious in details ...

Hello Herbert, this sentence ... "There is probably no second car manufacturer like SAAB. No one else who would have turned to the masses with intelligent and inexpensive offers and at the same time was so lovingly detailed and so precious in details ... I totally accept this. For me, my SAAB_Awareness started during a vacation job in Sandviken at the beginning of the 70 years with 90er, 99er ... and am still emotionally involved.

If I'm right, then Sandviken is the home of several fine and good (Sandvik) tools. Also for the processing of wood. Since fit her CV and my rambling comment from saws on cars to ice scratches really like a poke ...

Chisels, outdoor cookers, rucksacks, tents, clothing, medium format cameras, marine engines, axes and automobiles. Once in good times you have been influenced by Swedish quality and mindset, it is damn hard to emotionally distance yourself from it again. I know that.

If you really want to have such an ice scraper, just google for 'the Swedish ice scraper', then you will find comparable. Admittedly mostly in a different color with other (or no) hand protection. SAAB is not on top either, but after all, there seems to be a relationship with Sweden ...
