Saab friends find each other

A story about Saab, saabblog.net and Saab enthusiasts, with a happy ending. We saabblog readers have known it for a long time. Saab drivers are special! (Many riders of other brands think so, but they are not ☺) Hans was looking for a Saab 9-3 XWD with an advertisement on the saabblog, with the additional comment "I would prefer a 9-3X".

Beat from near Zurich had such an X and what a! Just look at the photos, then you know. A piece of jewelery, well maintained and equipped with many deer goodies, including the upgrade to 240PS / 350 Nm

An email from Beat to Hans and on the one hand there was joy and on the other side melancholy! Hans was immediately impressed by the X and Beat was still in doubt. Should I really part with this splendor Saab? It's fair to say that Beat owns four Saab and is now half-remembering to separate from two of the four. But does it have to be the X?
Beat was then, however, quickly convinced that the X is probably in good hands with Hans, but there are already five very well-kept Saab in the stable.

So they quickly agreed on the purchase price and other circumstances. Other circumstances means that the car had to be exported from CH to D. Actually not a big deal, but with a make that hasn't been manufactured for around seven years, it's not that easy to get the necessary documents. ORIO Switzerland in person Daniel Bläsi helped us a lot and with the third version we had the right proof of origin in our pockets.

THANK YOU DANIEL!

So it was good mood in early May by Beats Heim to the customs office XX. All documents were submitted, which had been prepared by a customs clearance office and as I said, actually such a customs clearance is not a matter. Oh, but just that day we caught a portly official! Very unruly he served us. First, he asked a colleague; "Do you want to make a car?" He shook his head without turning around and it was clear that the guy had to do it himself. It went very, very slowly forward. Very complicated were the 19% VAT. which you have to pay, of course, and the payment in cash does not take less than 20 minutes!

The office had allegedly no small change to pay the balance of a few euros. Well, after about 50 minutes we were in possession of the German customs documents and the KfZ control card. ( It should also be noted that the CH inch needed more than 10 minutes to clap a simple export stamp on the document! )

Fleet now went from customs to the home of Hans. Beat was invited to a lunch there and an appraisal of Hans's vehicles followed. And then came the solemn moment of key handover from Beat to Hans. Has the beat wiped off a little tear?

Keys!
Keys!

Would not be surprising, to say it again, the 9-3X is there as a year-old car and with his nearly 90000km he is almost 😉 The joy with Hans was / is of course very large. The approval of the X will take place later, maybe even after the visit of the Saab Festival in Trollhättan in June. (The sign is already reserved with XX TX933!) There is no hurry for Hans. The X is nicely protected in a garage and for the festival Hans drives with the 9-3 convertible.

Since the beat had delivered his X now Hans drove him home. On the way a lot was talked about Saab and the great vehicles. Once again we realized how much one is connected to these products. And it is just a shame that Saab is no more.
However, rain and heavy traffic accompanied us back to Zurich. We said goodbye in the knowledge to see each other again with many other Saab friends in Trollhättan!

The rain became stronger and the traffic even denser, but that could not detract from the good mood of Hans. The happy thought of this beautiful X in the garage was stronger than the annoyance of creeping forward. At home Hans had to take a quick look in the garage. Yes. there he stands and yes, he is wonderful!

Thanks to Hans and Beat for the Saab story on Sunday. How is it in everyday life with an older Saab? What do you experience, how do friends, colleagues and the family react? With indulgence, enthusiasm or compassion? How do you keep the Saab alive, what do you do with spare parts and workshops, how do you optimize or restore the old Swedes?

A broad topic for the "Saab stories 2019!". Challenging, but also interesting. How does it look with the fans, how strong does the Saab heart beat in everyday life? Write it to us, it's worth it!

We thank you for every published article with an exclusive Saab-Scania board.

Nice story! and very nice cars in the photos!
We already had the great (previous) 931 collection from Hans on the blog, the remaining collection from Beat is dazzling, with two classics for all situations and a 932 CV with slight modifications that makes you want more ...
Thank you very much Beat and Hans!

I am at a loss for suitable words. The story is too good, the cars are too beautiful and too many ...

This is a great and very delicious portion of SAAB, which the two authors have worn on Sunday for the blackboard.
Thank you.
