The Volvo Evolution. Our automotive life is changing!

Panta rhei - everything flows! Things are changing - including the automotive life of bloggers. A Volvo pulls up and refreshes the Swedish fleet at Mark. Should we tell about it? Or is this not possible at all? Granted, it's not the first Volvo at Mark. A few years ago someone moved into his double garage. An XC60 that he really liked. At that time, after some consideration, we decided that the Volvo was not an issue.

But the circumstances were different.

In the background was the wish that something would come from Trollhättan. It was a dim light, more reverie than justified. But as is well known, hope only dies last, and something that could have inspired us was never completely excluded. Saabblog also had a number of supporters from the Saab world at the time. Workshops, parts dealers and companies like Orio. We felt committed to our partners and their business model. In the meantime, the rows have thinned out and the number of partners has decreased noticeably.

Loyalty can be a one-way street.

So now the Volvo Evolution? It may sound tough, but it is. The newcomer from Gothenburg is the update of Mark's automotive life in the present. An addition and rejuvenation to the fleet, which now consists of a Volvo and two Saabs. In principle, what happens to us has been what has long been a reality for many readers. Life moves, everything flows.

The Volvo Evolution in our fleet

How will it go on? Mark and his Volvo will be an issue. Its mobility, divided between the two brands from Sweden. Exciting! Everything else remains open. We have several options. In addition to many Saab films, the film archive also stores some historical strips from Volvo. Swedish automotive history, they have a good chance of being published. Two Volvo partners have signaled that they are providing us with test vehicles that we can write about. An interesting option. It is not certain whether this will become reality. Corona is currently speaking against it.

Sure, our further opening in addition to Saab, Koenigsegg and NEVS-Evergrande will not meet with applause from all readers. It doesn't have to either. Nobody is forced to follow our evolution and read something on the subject from Gothenburg. Nobody will find unwanted mail in their mailbox in the future. To appreciate the sensitivity of the readers, we have this NewsletterSystem changed. If you like, subscribe to all topics. Or restrict the selection according to his interests.

The Saab topic, however difficult it has become over the years, is not on the final list. There is no need to worry because the fleet situation, let's put it this way, is balanced. A new Volvo is now parked at Mark. OK then. And for me a new (old) Saab in the carport. The story goes on…

Yes, please! I would have been against it a few years ago. But: Volvo is one of the last alternatives on the market. I think they can use any tailwind in the current situation. So: do it!

Volvo is good! The better half of me has only been driving Volvo and I have been driving Saab. Nevertheless, we get on well with the automobile and occasionally swap the mobile stands. I find it enriching my (car) everyday life when Tom takes up the topic.

    I am happy!

Honestly!? Do that! Volvo fits in well here and it's nice to read about a vibrant brand. Saab is therefore not deleted from the heart, it doesn't work at all! And if you don't want to read it, you shouldn't subscribe to it.

We also have a modern Volvo V40 in front of the house (next to 3 Saab's)
Unfortunately there was no alternative for a small, safe, modern car for women and youngsters!
    Safety first 🙂

I look forward to the new reports.
Volvo fits very well, I think.
For my SAAB 9/3 Aero we have now bought two “new” Volvo XC40 and XC90 and it is a real pleasure to drive all three alternately.

I also like to read Volvo articles and still see Volvo as an individual alternative brand to the other brands.

As an avowed SAAB and Volvo fan, I welcome the decision and am already looking forward to many exciting reports!

    Hello, Gigi
does Fisker still exist as a company? Are they not "settled" / insolvent etc ...
1-2 Fiskers are for sale in Lüneburg. Proud prices for questionable spare parts supply ... The vehicles definitely look elegant!

How about taking a look at Fisker?

Yes and no. I found the karma really good years ago and very much regretted the end. I have been working on the ocean for the past few months. Real enthusiasm did not want to arise. Maybe it's the design? Another electric SUV?

    Teaser, teaser and curtain up.

The voltage increases. I've been looking forward to the “new” Saab in the “blog house” since the first teaser ...

I also have no problem with Volvos and look forward to the historical and current.

With the current it is of course regrettable that the national competition, that the Swedish counter-draft is missing today. However, in view of the framework conditions set politically and on a global scale, there is no need to undergo any illusion that Saab could have gone completely its own way in 2020, 2021 and beyond ...

Nevertheless, it would have been exciting whether the trolls in the jungle of politics, environmental protection, assistance, comfort features and digital networking would not have found their own, intelligent and surprisingly independent path that would have convinced an Ove or me or even excited ...

Probably not, but maybe? This is purely speculative. What is certain is that I personally lack such a car on the market.

… ..And I park 2 nice old Saabs for leisure and a Volvo for work.
Volvo is a very good and individual alternative to the German competition.
