Saab 9-5 NG Navi Maps Update 2021

A current map update for the Saab 9-5 NG's navigation system is now available. Version 03.2021 includes the European countries and is also available for the Saab 9-4x. Really good news for owners of the last Saab models. You will receive the current status of the European road network almost 10 years after production was discontinued.

Navigation 2021 map update

The software update provider is H. Blom Engineering. The Swedish company has a good name when it comes to developing hardware and software for the last Saab. The new software is brought into the infotainment of the 9-5 or 9-4x by exchanging the hard disk.

H. Blom is offering the hard drives in exchange for around € 150,00, a fair price. For a deposit of € 200,00, the provider sends a hard drive with the latest software version; the deposit is credited back when the old medium is returned. Important: The infotainment must correspond to the current firmware version E800. The firmware must be updated before inserting the new hard drive.

Removing the hard drive from the Saab infotainment system is only recommended for experienced users. Appropriate tools and basic knowledge in dealing with electrostatic discharge are an advantage. Saab workshops like Lafrentz in Kiel offer the exchange for a small surcharge. The service is definitely recommended.

The navigation map update 2021 can be obtained from H. Blom online be ordered. The German cooperation partner, the Lafrentz car dealership, offers the current map material at the same price. The E800 firmware update is available for download from H. Blom. It is strongly recommended, even if you have not planned an update of the navigation system.

  • Deposit is 300 SEK not € 200 😉

  • Hello Tom

Will there be an update for the navigation system built in 9 for the 3-2009 or do you know if something is planned?

Thank you for a short feedback

    • @Tidaholm There will be nothing in my estimation. There are providers, just try Google. But the sources are mostly dubious and you don't always get what you expect.

  • Wonderful! If “Corona” leaves us, we want to travel to Slovakia in the spring. You feel a little safer with the latest GPS.

  • Well, that's really good news, the infotainment is ticking anyway, sometimes an update is definitely good!
