Pre-series - the new Koenigsegg Jesko rocks!

Another chapter in Koenigsegg history starts in Ängelholm. The pre-series of the new Jesko is making its rounds on the airfield. It is Christian von Koenigsegg himself who takes the helm. Because the first kilometers are always the most exciting. And the paintwork of the Jesko alone is tough. It is a dazzling homage to the history of the brand.

“Tang Orange Pearl” is what Ängelholm calls the ingenious shade in which the Jesko was painted. A reminder of the company's early days and the legendary CCR, which was available in this paint finish on request. Garnished with accents in carbon fiber and silver, the Jesko from the pilot series is now rocking the runway at work.

The color sets an exclamation point. It is reminiscent of the setting sun over Vänern and makes one thing clear: this sports car wants to stand out and set an example. It does that - both technically and visually. Because “Tang Orange Pearl” runs through the interior in many small details. And the technical data also make you sit up and take notice.

Active aerodynamics and 1.600 hp

A lot of fine technical work has gone into the latest work. Aerodynamically optimized, Koenigsegg speaks of active aerodynamics, the Jesko Absolut promises a drag coefficient of only 0.278. With the 1.600 hp that the supercharged 5 liter V8 from Koenigsegg is supposed to produce with E85 fuel, a top speed of more than 500 kilometers per hour could be possible. The maximum torque is 1.500 Nm.

The Evolution of the Jesko has two vertical fins in the Absolut version in the style of the F15 Eagle. Koenigsegg expects them to stabilize the vehicle at extremely high speeds. The cockpit is inspired by motorsport. It has a digital display and a Smart Center Infotainment. The manufacturer promises that the dynamic graphics behind the steering wheel should rotate according to the angle of the steering wheel.

The super sports car is also full of Swedish innovations. The 9-speed multiple clutch gearbox (Koenigsegg LST) is said to be the fastest in the world and change gears at "the speed of light", as it were.

125 copies by Jesko and Jesko Absolut

The namesake of the latest work of art from Ängelholm is Jesko von Koenigsegg, father of the company's founder Christian von Koenigsegg. The two variants - Jesko and Jesko Absolut - were presented in 2019 at the Geneva Motor Show. The first copies of the Jesko are to be delivered in spring 2022.

The Jesko Absolut should be fastest Koenigsegg all time will be. In Ängelholm there are plans to build 125 Jesko and Jesko Absolut units in the new, enlarged factory halls. That would also be a new superlative for the brand.

I find it impressive that you can apparently remove the roof. Or did it fly away at top speed ...

After all, there is still a Swedish company that builds cool cars. Even if I unfortunately can't afford it.
