The Saab passion - does it never end?

Yesterday our new Turbo cups (Edition 2021) went to our Shop on-line. The most complex project to date and a result of ongoing Saab passion. Does it never end? Definitely at some point! Perhaps when our next federal government sweeps classic combustion engines from the streets. The concern is not entirely unfounded. But the time has not come yet. An end to the passion is (for the time being) by no means in sight.

The turbo cups

I would have liked to have brought our most complex project to date to the runway a little differently - a little more ingeniously. A few months ago, when the project started, the idea arose to provide the tire tread of the pad with a Saab aircraft. Our inspiration came directly from Saab and from the concept cars that are now in the museum in Trollhättan. As is customary in the industry, special tires with an individual profile have been “baked” for some cars.

That was definitely outrageously expensive.

But also very cool.

The idea failed because of the price. The normal tire profile was just affordable. A knobbed profile, as you see it often, would have been cheaper. The individual special request with the Saab aircraft was beyond the budget. Together with the engraving of the historic Saab Turbo logo, we would have blown the price range. Because printing cups is easy and inexpensive. Engraving is purely manual work, and if you see the filigree turbo wheel, you can guess the effort behind it.

What does the Saab passion bring for the future?

The promotions for the 3rd quarter of 2021 end with the Turbo Cups. The promotions for quarter 4 have already been set. It is absolutely certain that there will be no stickers of any kind. We are through with that this year. Instead, we turn to useful things. Something that every Saab driver needs and that falls under the heading “useful accessories”. Of course, we also thoroughly saab this product, and it comes from a German manufacturer. The time has come in October, and we also have a nice surprise ready for Christmas.

Saab Passion - Continuation

What doesn't let go of us in the long run is the matter of cups and things that make everyday life and all of our lives a little more Saabish. Something you don't really need. But where it's nice when you have it. It is important to us to pay tribute to the Saab story. The brand has always been pretty cool and has good products on the market. Nothing that was cheap, but sustainable quality for a long time.

We are committed to this.

That is why our partners always come from Germany or the EU. If possible, production will be climate neutral. We are working accordingly on our latest project. It will be even more elaborate than the turbo cups. We bring color and courage into play, engraving is also included again, but we go beyond subtle and inconspicuous. The project is well advanced and it is very exciting.

During this week the colors will be determined, then our partner will produce a first sample. It will be a few more months before we can go online with it. It could be in January 2022.

Saab passion can be very exciting.

I look forward to everything that is to come. I also need a Christmas present, I am available for any suggestions. Finding something for Saab fans is really a challenge.

Thank you, Tom, for all the time and work you put into it. Finding a manufacturer who implements exactly what you have in mind and perhaps shows ways of making it different or even more interesting is not enough with a Google search. I know that from my own expirience. So I really appreciate the effort. It's just worth it.

    Hello Tom.
Thank you for the cool mug.
I ordered one right away ...
Yesterday I searched all day and waited for a go-ahead. Unfortunately with my Android phone and your site in mobile mode. By the way, there is no link to the shop. Neither in the menu nor via 'Aero X Club' ...
    Greetings André T.

Hello André, I am aware of that and it is improving every day. The shop now has a link in the top menu, and a shopping cart can be found on the right. Since yesterday we have been shipping to 5 other countries. Time management is currently a small balancing act, family, job, construction site and blog. That will change by the end of the year, then everything will go a little faster again 😉
