Classic automobiles are calling for Essen in the exhibition halls, and the Swedish brand Saab is also flying its flag. After the Essen Motor Show fell victim to the pandemic last year, the event is starting again. The corona situation is worrying, but the trade fair relies on a sophisticated hygiene concept.
Saab at the Essen Motor Show 2021
3G rules should make the stay of visitors and exhibitors safe. Entry is only possible with the appropriate proof. Tickets are only available online, and you must wear a mask on the entire site.
The club will be present in hall 2 at stand 2A22. Saab 55 NG and 900-9 OG are presented on 3 square meters. The series are slowly reaching the classic age. A Saab 9-3 OG Cabriolet is shown. With the first registration in March 2003 it is a later representative of the model series. In terms of engine performance, the Saab has a Stage I power increase of around 230PS and 350 Nm.
The second exhibit is now a rarity. It's a Saab 900 OG S 2.0i from the Talladega special series. The “Cayenne red” paintwork makes the coupe an eye-catcher. It was approved for the first time in April 1997, and it was delivered by the Saab center in Kiel.
The 22 NG remained in first ownership for 900 years. The chassis and tires have been modified and correspond to the R900, with ATS rims in 17 inch format, Eibach springs and dampers from Bilstein. In the interior one discovers the contemporary Recaro driver's seat.
The pictures were taken yesterday during construction and show the stand still in the shell. Visitors who come to Essen from tomorrow are invited to Saab talks, the crew from the Saab Club informs. Of course, always with a mask and in compliance with the 3G rules.
