Now it's over. Before Christmas, Saab Automobile AB's bankruptcy proceedings ended with a press conference. The lawyers were generally satisfied with their work. Even if they, and the regret was palpable, should not have sold the most valuable part of the bankruptcy estate. The trademark rights, the name Saab, remained inviolable and unreachable. It could have brought billions. But Saab AB watches over this. That had the final word at the end of the drama. Because there was clearly the big white elephant in the room, whether there could ever be Saab cars again, and what is planned with the trademark rights. The answer to that, and other legal details, are interesting.
