A first look - the Aero X Club Mug 2022

There are projects that just have to be carried out! Because at some point you had the idea, and because you think it's good. The Aero X Club mug is one such project. One that had to be inevitable. Because the right accessories should not be missing for everyday coffee enjoyment and for every real club. In the end, it became a small work of art that requires a lot of manual work steps before it is perfect. Crazy? Sure, but what would the world be without the little madness that you indulge in?

Based on the Aero X Club and the incomparable Aero X study from Saab, one thing quickly became clear: the Club Cup could be anything, but not ordinary. From the Saab past I knew that Trollhättan was always experimenting with a matt black finish. The Turbo X should have come onto the market like this, at least one pre-series copy was painted accordingly.

It had not been implemented, although it would have made it a trendsetter in 2008. So ... of course ... the club mug had to have a matt black design. This was realized with a matt black hydro-glaze. Of course, the Aero X lettering should also be engraved and not (inexpensively) printed. The elaborate engraving has meanwhile become a kind of trademark for our projects.

Engraving the X as well and then leaving it like the lettering was not an option. It is colored in an additional manual step and thus gives the cup's design the finishing touch. The X became conspicuously red, and here the Saab past also provides the template. Because when it comes to concept cars, the Swedes loved to display the X in red.

Which is not the end of the story. In an (almost) perfect, Saab and car-related cup, the tire profile should not be missing. We already had it for that Turbo cups (Edition 2021) used. The profile gives the club cup the perfect hold, is removable and the last detail that makes this cup a collector's item.

Of course, you already guessed it, we started a crazy and expensive project. The Aero X Club mug will be beyond cheap, even if our proven partner, who produces in Germany and the EU, did a lot to accommodate us.

Exclusive collector's mug for 2022

The design was revised several times, ideas discarded and alternatives sought. In terms of effort, the project was on the brink more than once. In the end, however, we always decided to carry on.

The cups will only be available in 2022 as exclusive collector's items for members of the Aero X Club. The edition is strictly limited. You can pre-order now in our Aero X Club Store. We expect delivery by the end of the week, then our shop will also start delivering.
