The second life of the Saab 340 B as a cargo plane
The Saab 340 was considered ahead of its time. When she took off on her first flight in 1983, she was superior to the competition in terms of speed and comfort. The turboprop machine became a success for Saab AB. 459 pieces were made in Sweden and only in 2005 the 340 was replaced by the Saab 2000. Many Saab 340s are still in service as regional passenger aircraft today, and it seems the fleet is getting a second life.
