A new Saab is here - will the 9-3 Aero be allowed to stay?

Today we travel back to July 2022. The Spanish summer holidays are just around the corner. The age-old tradition of closing all of August is something that smaller companies like the Saab Berma workshop in Barcelona like to maintain. Unfortunately, this has the consequence that in the second half of July and also the first weeks of September the order books are particularly full and the working days are always much too short.

My professional life can also be quite challenging in the summer months. Basically, these months are an extremely unfavorable time to plan new Saab projects. That's probably why our phone call lasts only a short time when Joan from Berma tells me something about a rare and particularly well-preserved Saab customer vehicle with a few kilometers.

"Buy, put away and then we'll see" is what pragmatism demands at such moments.

That's exactly what we do. We buy another Saab and put it away. And then forget it in the heat of summer.
