Saab Ice & Snow 2023 - the Saab winter photos of the year
It's time. The users on Instagram have decided. The three most popular Saab winter photos of 2023 have been determined. Our prices are distributed internationally. We send them to Switzerland, to Austria and one of the winners is in Germany. The reviews were understandable, and in one case perhaps a little surprising.
It turned out that winter does not always have to go hand in hand with snow. Sometimes it is the motive alone that is decisive.
The Saab brand in particular won with this campaign. The many photos showed how alive the scene is and how the special vehicles are appreciated. That was our intention, a small statement for an incomparable Swedish car brand. But now to the award winners.
The Saab winter photos of the year
The 3rd prize goes to Uwe's surprise photo. A winter photo – but without ice and snow. 401 users found the yellow Saab on the tow truck particularly cool, and it stirred emotions. Is that a Viggen or isn't it? The Saab sure looks like a Viggen, it even has the badge of a Viggen.
But I advise you to direct your gaze to the rear spoiler. That clears the riddle. For those who are knowledgeable.

Second prize goes to a photo that entered the competition as one of the favourites. It has press photo qualities and belongs to the strong Saab 2-9X faction, which was particularly common this winter. 3 users also found the Saab good, that's enough for second place. Our second Saab package belongs to Gregor and goes to Austria.

The race for the top two places was tight. It took place between a Saab 99 and a 9-3X. In the end, the winner was the classic from Trollhättan, with a historical photo. 538 times the thumb went up for the Saab from Gila, which can not only have been due to the orange paintwork.

1st place belongs to the Swiss fans who showed special Saab commitment. The packages to Austria, Germany and Switzerland will be on their way next week.
As announced, we add to the promised praise the new Saab Jet stickers, which are not yet available in the shop. Exclusive, as a little surprise, and as a big thank you!
To Tom:
Uwe's yellow "Viggen" is most likely an Aero because it has its bridge (rear) spoiler and not the typical Viggen spoiler.
What I (and other 9-3 drivers) are more interested in:
Can you tell me what brand/model the hitch is from, for which you don't have to saw an (ugly) cutout in the rear skirt lip?
I would also like to ask “Uwe”.
Thanks in advance!
Oliver
It is exactly like that. A foiled aero. The Saab factory hitch always had the cutouts plus cover on the bumper - ex works.
I wouldn't want to saw when retrofitting either. I have written to Uwe, maybe he will find the time and reply.
Many thanks to the SaabBlog team! Was a nice winter campaign with casual Saab photos. I am also very happy about the second place for my 9-3X 🙂
The 9-3x looks great - and how well done not to get out on the driver's side to keep the snow untouched. Beautiful! I also liked the picture with the white 900 OG Cabrio in front of the church tower. The yellow picture, on the other hand, evokes negative associations for me that do not do justice to the beautiful Saab. Non-Saab connoisseurs will probably think: Old car has to be towed again. So I agree with aero50. Great action - but I can't (don't want to) take part in voting via Instagram either.
Oh yes, the "bride" in white in front of the church. That was also as suitable for a brochure as the 9-3X ...
Such is a good competition - more worthy entrants than podiums. Well, the yellow one. Perhaps the voters used their imaginations?
The athlete on a transporter of the same color may have conveyed associations with a racing team. Maybe the photo was just the Pulitzer among the entries for some voters?
So a beautiful car unadorned in an ugly situation documented by photojournalism. That is also justified. Just today. Perhaps many voters simply appreciated so much honesty? I think that's ok. After all, there was nothing in the call to say that submissions shouldn't be journalistic, that they had to be aesthetic. The voting of the jurors should be accepted, I think the award winners should be acknowledged. Also the yellow one...
Much criticism here on “Instakram” …
I can understand well. But nonetheless, the result seems plausible to me (especially in this order) and the award winners are worthy. Congratulations to all three and a thousand thanks to thirty other senders who, in my opinion, are on par with the podium. Just good that I was allowed to see your pictures here ...
Thanks to all & the. initiators..
Congratulations to the winners, nice pictures!
Yes, the thing with the instakram .... I'm out of it, even my offspring said goodbye there. I would prefer the possibility to vote in the blog!
Instagram and all that stuff is just annoying, it was announced the day before yesterday. It would be a good idea to focus future actions on the blog.
Well-deserved winning picture, congratulations!
With the yellow Saab on the yellow tow truck, well, someone has a lot of Insta friends there 😉
