Saab - (Re)born from Jets - we'll get the planes back
Saab and the planes. The never-ending story, the saga of the brand's roots. In fact, like them, we don't escape the airplane genes either Saab time capsule shows. A jet can be found on the outer packaging, in a reduced form. The basis for us was an old, faded Saab shirt and the stylized aircraft handles in the trunks of Saab 9-5 and 9-3.
Sometimes it then happens that projects develop their own dynamics. What we designed for the time capsule was so cool that we had to keep playing with it. At some point it was clear: we'll get the planes back!
Before that was finally done, there was still a lot to do. Shrink the design, try different colors and we have a not-so-ordinary Saab Jet decal.
(Re)born from Jets – we're getting the planes back!
Due to its reduced form, it is mysterious. Is that really an airplane? Only insiders and people with Saab Macke could know immediately. In the first tests - applied to various Saab - the newly designed "(Re)born from Jets" decal looks pretty good. Scandinavian and even more reduced than we had hoped.
The special thing is: the sticker is extremely variable. It cuts a good figure on the sheet metal of the body, also on the black B-pillar, even on tinted window surfaces. A small, subtle reference to the airplane genes of our cars.
The planes are back!
Of course, the (Re)born from Jets stickers are not for traditionalists. More for people who enjoy thinking ahead about the brand and daring to do something new.
The old days, with the Born from Jets campaign, can also be seen in our Saab video store bring to life again. There you will find several Saab commercials.
The newly born “Born from Jets” stickers are available in two different versions in our Aero X Club Store to order. We included a set in the package for the winners of the 2023 Saab Ice & Snow campaign, and they can also be found in our 2011 Saab Time Capsule. The latest time capsule, and some more for the 2012 model year, goes online on Friday.

Is the sticker just the frame or is there a transparent surface?
Internal working title was Tomahawk. The (Re)born sticker is the outline of the jet, but easy to stick as it comes on transparent film.
The icon is really iconic.
I would have liked Saab's new corporate design, hub cap, hood, tailgate...
And then a noble vehicle key in this shape. Terrific.
My daughter just said you should make the stickers in other colors too. So right colors. Because she would also stick it on her smartphone.

The 2012 time capsule was just presented to me by the friendly DHL driver. Many thanks to the blog team for the great idea! The stylized reduced plane on the outer box looks really good. The decals in white and black are a wonderful development that will certainly look good on our Saabs. But now enough with writing, after all there is still something in the time capsule to read.
