The Opel Commodore GS Coupe was Oberliga Sport from Rüsselsheim

Large coupes always spread the touch of the sophisticated. The situation was similar with the Opel Commodore GS Coupe. As far as performance was concerned, the Hessians were definitely in a league with the Porsche 911 T, BMW CS and Mercedes 280 CE. Because the Opel Commodore Coupe, as a GS/E, was a fast member of the 200 Club.

That was something of a thing in the 70's. Opel played in the premier league - at reasonable prices. The variety of the Commodore series was remarkable, there were 5 different 6-cylinder in-line engines that the brand with the lightning bolt made.

In addition, there were two different bodies, the sedan and the coupe, and this seemingly daring calculation paid off. Opel sold more than 140.000 copies of the Commodore B. Particularly amazing - every third Commodore, around 42.000 vehicles, was a coupe.
