In Trollhättan, ANA Specialbilar took care of converting normal production vehicles into police cars. In addition to Saab patrol cars and command vehicles, civilian versions were also created that were not recognizable as emergency vehicles at first glance.
They mostly had it all. Potent technology was hidden under harmless-looking sheet metal.
The closing of the factory gates also ended with some delay of ANA Specialbilar. With Saab, the most important supplier had also disappeared. Switching to alternative car brands did not bring the hoped-for success and in the end even management personnel left the company, which meant the end for good.
It's been more than 10 years now, Saab police cars are more and more retired from active service in Sweden, and it's rare to buy a car that's fully equipped.
