Sometimes it is particularly difficult to research the Saab history. When researching the Saab 9000 as a special protection vehicle, the usual sources failed. People who otherwise remember every detail could not contribute anything to the topic. It almost seemed as if the project never existed.
Of course 1987 (or even earlier) is a long time ago, many of the decision makers of yesteryear are no longer with us, but there was a press release and a report in the Saab customer newspaper. But nothing more. But after the appearance of the first post, a crucial clue finally came.
