Lancia Delta - a milestone and the Saab from Turin

The Lancia Delta, presented in 1979 during the IAA in Frankfurt am Main, was a milestone. For Lancia, the elegant technical avant-garde from Italy, which was able to show off its old glory one last time. But also for Saab. The Saab-Lancia 600 emerged from the Lancia Delta. It was the start of a long-standing, successful collaboration between the two brands.

Only 10 years before the premiere of the Delta, Lancia had to take refuge under the Fiat roof. The brand was on the verge of extinction, but with fresh money from Turin in its accounts, it celebrated a comeback. Stratos, Gamma and Beta came, but it was primarily the compact Delta that would secure the future.
