It's time again for the Essen Motor Show. The Saab presence there seems to continue to grow over the years. In 2023 there will be a record-breaking six vehicles that will be shown. The organizers of the 1st German Saab Club have once again outdone themselves, the selection is extremely interesting.
The balancing act goes between the classic and the last Saab - a really good mix awaits visitors in the Essen exhibition halls. One of the highlights could be a Saab 9-4x. It is probably the rarest Saab on German roads and not every friend of the brand will have seen one in the flesh.
The rarest Saab on German roads
Production in Mexico ran for a few weeks in 2011; only 457 Saab 9-4x were manufactured. The planning for the German market launch was postponed to 2012 due to the manufacturer's crisis. However, it never took place because the factory gates in Sweden closed beforehand. Even if things could have developed differently, the Saab SUV would still have remained an exception on the German market.
The internal planning envisaged an allocation of a maximum of 300 vehicles per year.
Prepare Saab live – at the Essen Motor Show
Of course, the 9-4x is not the only highlight of the Saab presentation in Essen. Visitors will be able to spot a red 99 GL 5 Speed. A golden Saab 900 Turbo sedan is also not an everyday vehicle. And a black Saab 900 NG Hirsch Cabriolet is to be restored after 19 months in a partially open parking garage over the 10-day trade fair on site.
That sounds exciting. It's a good idea and at the same time a living car culture.
A red Saab 96 and a particularly hot Saab 900 Turbo sedan, from Saab specialists and tuner Gasparatos (Link) used in motorsports, round off the successful appearance.
Saab, the iconic Swedish car brand, will be present in Hall 2 at stand 2D27. The Essen Motor Show (Link) will take place until December 10th, 12.
