A very rare Saab 900 Turbo CD is sold here.

The opportunity for a collector to bring a real rarity into the garage.

The vehicle is in the restored original condition and will look for its equal in terms of condition and originality!

The Saab 900 CD (sometimes referred to as "Finlandia") is an extended executive version of the Saab 900 4-door.
The extension only benefits the rear seats.
The front and rear doors were each lengthened by 10 cm. The body itself by 20 cm.
Saab built only 1981 units worldwide between 1986 and 480.
The "stretch version" did not roll off the assembly line at the main plant in Trollhättan, but was manufactured as a small series in Uusikaupunki, Finland (then Saab-Valmet). The Finnish factory had a high level of manufacturing quality and also built the 901 Cabriolet, for example.
The 900 CD was primarily intended for government fleets, as a company limousine or diplomatic vehicle.
The new price in Germany at the time was very close to that of a Mercedes S-Class.

This Saab 900 CD slumbered safely in a hall for over 15 years before it was carefully revived and extensively restored (photo documentation available). With a fresh MOT, an H license plate acceptance was made and it received classic car status without any problems.

During the restoration, great importance was attached to originality and quality.

The basis for this restoration was very good due to the long service life and the relatively low mileage of only around 135.000 km.
In order to have final certainty about the actual condition of the underbody, it was completely blasted with dry ice. The result was reassuring because the condition was surprisingly good - actually excellent.
Only some superficial rust on the front end had to be addressed. Only the front wheel arch on the driver's side and a small spot on the left sill were welded.
There was only slight rust on the edges of the doors at the top.
Everything was professionally repaired by a master body shop (Saab specialist) and the car was given a cavity preservation afterwards.

Partially, where necessary, it was varnished. The original rims were also repainted as part of the tire replacement.
The front and rear brake system was revised with new parts (calipers, discs, pads, hoses).
It has new Bilstein shock absorbers all around.
An axle measurement was carried out. The steering wheel (also a NOS part, by the way) is of course completely straight.

Renewal of the roof lining at a Hamburg upholsterer known in the Saab scene.
Professional deep cleaning of the carpet.
Professional refurbishment and re-dyeing of the beige leather interior (including door panels).
The interior is now presented in excellent condition.

The headlights, the front indicators and both rear lights were installed as original new parts
Furthermore Radbobenleisten and some decorative strips. The bumper covers were also replaced.
Even little things like the wiper arms of the headlights were replaced by new Saab parts.

Technically, it was looked after and repaired by a Saab specialist workshop.
Among other things, a new and original turbocharger was installed.
The cylinder head has already been renewed by the previous owner and can handle unleaded fuel.
The fuel system was cleaned and repaired due to the long service life.

The automatic transmission shifts early, softly and cleanly.
The four electric windows work perfectly. Likewise, the front seat heating and the central locking. The air conditioning is also cooling properly.
The interior is complete - i.e. the CD parts specific to delivery are available (reading lamp at the back, foot wedges at the back)

At the Saab Festival in Trollhättan in June 2019, the car aroused a lot of interest. There was even a short illustrated article about him in Sweden's leading classics magazine.

The history of the vehicle is known. At the time, it was delivered to the dealer Saab Uhlenhorst in Hamburg. Mechanics who had looked after the vehicle back in the 80s were involved in the restoration – and enjoyed this unique time capsule while they were working.

The car has been described here to the best of our knowledge and belief. A sale is made privately to the exclusion of any guarantee or warranty.
And: The old C-Netz mobile phone was just a dummy for the trade fair appearance. It is of course not functional and is not part of the offer!
